From the supplier: North American Reinsurance manager Richard Polun called on property and casualty insurance underwriters to employ the ultimate professionalism and integrity in writing new catastrophic exposure insurance policies. Speaking at a company seminar, Polun said that maintenance of standard underwriting practices, the ability to evaluate fair, going and walk-away rates and knowledge of risks and producer practices would help settle a volatile market. International catastrophes have already lowered property and casualty industry surpluses and reserves.
